The Bigs - This is the funnest baseball game I have
ever played, but I think it would only be extremely fun on the Wii. The Wii
really makes terrific use of the Wii remote and all of its functions. To pitch
the ball for example, you’d have to twist your wrist to throw a curveball, and
you’d have to make sure your hand is perfectly straight to throw a fastball. You
can throw any pitch that a real baseball player can throw. For hitting, all you
do is swing the Wii remote as hard as you can, and try to knock it out of the
park. For fielding, you use the nunchuck to control your fielder, and if you
want to dive/jump, all you do is whip the Wii remote in the direction you want
to dive/jump while quickly tapping A. The thing I find most impressive about
this game is how easy the base running is. In other games (MLB 2k7, Slugfest,
etc.), I was always getting tired of how I could never make my runner go back to
the base or steal when I wanted him to. But with the Wii remote, all you do is
move the nunchuck to the base you want your currently selected runner to go to.
To steal, all you do is point the nunchuck in the direction you want him to
steal and press Z, prior to the pitch. To make your runner sprint, all you have
to do is shake the Wii remote as quickly as you can. |
